Archaeologists have discovered traces of a 3,000-year-old fort and adjacent buildings in the Timna Valley area, and researchers are claiming that these structures were built during the reign of Solomon.

According to the report of the website Youth Health Mag, archaeologists from Tel Aviv University believe that the copper mines located in the barren hills of the Timna Valley are actually the place that is attributed to Hazrat Solomon in religious traditions.

According to the researchers, 3,000-year-old artifacts have been discovered in this area, including a fort, wall and stables. A report published in the scientific journal General of Archaeological Science has claimed that these artifacts belong to the era of Hazrat Dawood and Hazrat Solomon.

According to historical traditions, Dawood (a.s.) decided to march hundreds of miles from Jerusalem and fought with his enemies by reaching this valley. Experts have also suggested that most of the wars during this period were fought over copper, as copper was as important in those times as oil is today.

Apart from ancient military structures, animal bones and other remains have also been found in the valley. It should be remembered that before this, the American archaeologist Nelson Gluck has also discovered traces of furnaces established to melt metal in the same valley.

He said that this place must have been an important center for smelting metals like iron and copper and making weapons from them thousands of years ago.

Archaeologist Dr. Bin Yusuf termed the latest discovery as an important step and expressed hope that further investigations would also provide important information about the ancient people who inhabited the site.
