Imran Khan is the 3rd Pakistani Prime Minister imprisoned in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Prison, 

 Imran Khan's and his PTI's 25-year-long political journey came to a screeching halt a short while ago. As I had predicted in this space, Khan has been convicted, arrested, and disqualified from politics. At least for the time being, Khan's political chapter is closed. Pakistan holds a unique distinction in the comity of nations. Almost all elected Prime Ministers were convicted for corruption, illegal use of power, or for defying the Supreme Court. Several were shown the door by Presidents. Basically, no Pakistani Prime Minister has ever completed his 5-year term. Many of them were arrested.

Imran Khan is the 3rd Pakistani Prime Minister imprisoned in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Prison, with Nawaz Sharif and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto being the other two. Besides Imran Khan, convicted former Prime Ministers include Nawaz Sharif, Yusuf Reza Gillani, Benazir Bhutto, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and Hussain Shaheed Suharwardy. This dangerous prime ministerial game of musical chairs, with frequent phases of direct military interventions, has already caused incalculable loss to Pakistan's economy. Pakistan ranks at the global bottom in all matrices of growth, development, health, and education. It's time for Pakistan to take a break from politics. We have tried PPP four times, Nawaz Sharif's PMLN four ( Nawaz thrice Shahbaz once) , and PTI once. 

This offers a significant opportunity for us to usher in a professional, non-political government. IMF has sat goal posts for us to restructure the economy. Let's work towards implementing those long-awaited structural reforms in the economy. The digital economy should replace the prevailing cash economy.

Pakistan's alarming 8.5 percent tax-to-GDP ratio must be increased to at least 15 percent. The retail sector, wholesale sector, real estate sector, and agriculture must all contribute taxes. Non filers category must be abolished. Often tried political governments can't do this. This feat can only be accomplished by a professionally-led civilian government supported by Gen Asim Munir. This is the transformative solution that Pakistan needs.
